Resolved Question: How can I find out the names of my great great grandfather's parents?

I'm trying to follow my surname, but I can't seem to find out the names of my great great grandfather's parents. I know my great great grandfather's: -full name -his date of death (1940) -his wife's full name including maiden & her year of death (1929) -from his children's birth places that he lived in Nether-seal, Derbyshire (England) and later in Leicestershire (Ashby-de-la-Zouch then Leicester) and that logically he must have been born around 1850-1860 -he was a cottage and cow keeper in Nether-seal during 1887-1888. I haven't had any luck with free search sites for marriage/birth certificates and I'm stuck. If you think you can help, I can email you the name of my great great grandfather.
