First of all i'm black and from England and I've met a lot of people across the UK and I strike up conversations with anyone in certain situations and nobody has said anything racist to me or avoided talking to me or anyone of a different skin color. I live in Leicester which is a very multicultral place with africans, indians, east europeans, bangladeshis etc. and I've met people from down south, up north, wales, scotland and whether and everybody is friendly. Only thing I can recall is an old woman working at a supermarket who didn't look like she was happy helping me with a self checkout and just didn't smile or anything unless she is just like that to everyone. When I say racist I don't count jokes as racist amongst people you know in good humour. I've only heard one clearly racist thing a man said to me and my friends 'we need to stick together against the muslims who blow us up.' Also the usual corner shop and curry jokes that's about it.
